Trusted Traveler Programs

The Trusted Traveler Programs are managed by the United States (U.S) Customs and Border Protection. These programs provide pre-approved, low risk travelers with dedicated lanes and kiosks to expedite travel. There are different programs available to travelers depending on the mode or purpose of travel and the area of travel. The different options for entrance to the U.S. from Mexico, via land, are:

SENTRI: The Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) Program is or travel into the U.S. from Mexico by using primary dedicated lanes at land border ports. Applicants are subject to a rigorous background check and in-person interview.

FAST: The The Free and Secure Trade (FAST) Program is For quick Customs and Border Protection processing of commercial shipments entering the U.S. Enrollment is open to truck drivers from the U.S. and Mexico and is dependent upon certification of the vendor’s supply chain by the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program.
